Mind/Body Health & Psychotherapy
We are a team of psychotherapists trained to support individuals, couples and families by applying various modalities of psychotherapy (link to the team and their clinical profiles).
At Intentional Wellness and Consulting, we believe in the power of offering a safe, private and objective space for individuals and groups to explore the root causes of pain, dysfunction, a sense of feeling “stuck” or perhaps just an overall sense of confusion and/or overwhelm.
We are less interested in the symptom and more interested in treating the root cause of the challenges you may face personally or professionally. Our 50 years of combined experience teaches us that when we treat root problems, more often than not, the symptoms subside.
Our goal is to support you toward genuine healing, increased functionality and personal growth.

Specialty Areas
Deafness & Hard of Hearing
Dolly Sullivan, founder of Intentional Wellness and Consulting is Proficient in American Sign Language. ASL is her first language because both of her parents are Deaf. Providing one on one therapy services without an interpreter helps create a safe space for the patient to express themselves without judgement. By Dolly being raised in the Deaf culture gives her a deeper understanding of the stressors and challenges of being a minority living in a majority hearing culture.
Trauma
Our team is trained to treat those who struggle with the symptoms often experienced after a traumatic event and/or series of traumatic events throughout life (abuse/neglect, loss of a loved one, combat, survivor of witness to violence, survivor of natural disasters, loss of a job, growing up with chronic stress, trauma from medical procedures, etc.).
Bereavement/Grief & Loss
The loss of a loved one or a sudden change or tragedy of a loved one are universal traumas. We live in a culture which doesn’t support grief in healthy ways. Our loved ones try to support us, but often with unrealistic expectations about how long one may grieve or what grieving looks like. With nearly a decade of experience working with families who have experienced loss through death or loss of normalcy from a new diagnosis; We are honored to help our patient’s growth through their grief.
Foster Care Parents
We work with current, upcoming and those contemplating becoming foster parents. We outline what to expect and a strategy to help you care for and support vulnerable children in the foster care system. With love, support and direction, children can and will be their best. We care for the caregivers’ by providing tools, resources, and support that you need to be your best.
How We Can Help:
- Addressing behavioral challenges
- Attachment
- Post traumatic and bonding issues
- Family Therapy
Children in Foster Care
We support and provide therapy to adolescent children in the foster care system, young adults growing out of the foster care system, as well as provide consultation and therapy to foster care allies and supporters.
Caretaker Fatigue
Founder, Dolly Sullivan is the primary caretaker of her husband who is a stroke survivor. She “gets it”; the mental, physical, and spiritual stress of this role on individuals and family members.
Taking care of a family member or friend or being a survivor of complex health needs can be emotionally and physically draining. Dolly has spent over a decade working with parents of children with complex healthcare needs and/or long-term hospitalizations due to prematurity.

Professional Healthcare Providers
While the paradigm is shifting (albeit too slowly); the education of medical care professionals has carved out little-to-no space in their curricula to educate on areas such as self-care, vicarious and secondary trauma, burnout and fatigue and balancing work and life stressors.
Historically, the culture of the healthcare industry has maintained a spirit and philosophy that to be affected by your work is unprofessional or reflects “you’re just not cut out for the field”. We have spent over a decade supporting and providing therapy to physicians, social workers, nurses, clinical/nurse or/mental health assistants helping them manage the chronic stress of such demanding roles.
Addiction
Recovering from addiction is a lifelong journey and is rarely possible without a support system. We believe “People can and do recover and get their lives back”. If you or someone you care about is struggling with the disease of addiction Intentional Wellness can support you and explore your options for recovery. We guide our patients down the path to recovery from beginning through sustaining your recovery.
