Meet Brittany
Brittany Henderson
Social Work/Therapist, LGSW, MSW
Brittany’s parents, both alumni of West Virginia University, made it inevitable that Brittany is native to Morgantown, West Virginia. She is the eldest of 12 siblings! Also a graduate of West Virginia University, she received her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work with emphasis in Therapy and Counseling.
Brittany’s first clinical role was working with individuals with neurodivergences. During the pandemic she re-discovered her passion for working with those who identify as part of the nondivergent community. Her experience in private practice empowered Brittany to conduct individual and group counseling sessions as well as crisis intervention. She approaches her psychotherapy work with a holistic focus and applies evidence-based practices. She will also help you build your treatment plan through a collaborative process that aligns with your individual healthcare goals.
With over 13 years of experience as a Therapeutic Programs Director, Brittany diagnosed and treated mental health disorders. Prior to her work as Therapeutic Programs Director, Brittany completed an extensive Therapeutic Internship Placement at Chestnut Ridge Psychiatric Hospital in the Hospital Day Program.
Prior to Brittany’s clinical practice, she also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), for the Marion County, West Virginia, Court House. There, she obtained and applied knowledge and understanding of existing relevant statutes, case laws, ethical codes, and regulations affecting professional practice of counseling.
Brittany places cultural diversity as a priority. She has served on an interdisciplinary team with a focus on the intrapersonal, interpersonal, and relational functioning of individuals and families and on the counseling approaches, strategies, and techniques that will best help patients function effectively.
Brittany delivers services via telehealth and/or in person and looks forward to working with you to meet your healthcare goals.
